Submissions
are now being accepted. You can also join the
eGroup if you want to keep in touch with what's happening
on the project. Some
of your questions about format etc may be answered already in
our FAQs.
There will
be a theme for each Cycle (a Cycle will include a DVD and hopefully
a local live performance and screenings in other cities). The
first Cycle's theme is:
Light
and Night
You can use
existing work as long as it's in some way related to the theme,
but you'll need to edit to make sure it meets our one really strict
criteria of being 3 minutes long (or ideally, 2 minutes and 50
seconds - with a 5 second gap at each end). You don't have to
be literal in your interpretation of the theme, as long as you
can justify a relationship to the theme in some way.
Hopefully
that's enough info for you to get collaborating with others and
working on your submissions.
Closing
date for the first Cycle is 31st
December 2005. (put back due to lask of $ - gives you
more time! :)
Not all Submissions
will be selected for inclusion in the Project. There will be a
curatorial/selection process where works will be assessed by both
the 3minutes.net Committee and invited Industry experts. Factors
considered will include the quality of the work, the appropriateness
to the theme and also the goals of the Project (eg, level of collaboration).
All entries
must be accompanied by a completed Media License and Release Form
- choose either A4
Word doc or Letter
Word Doc . Let us know if you need an alternative format.
Please also
enclose with your entry:
- Brief CVs
of all participants/creators
- Synopsis
(max 50 words)
- Short description
of the way it was created (eg, the process of collaboration
etc)
- Short description
of the piece and how it fits the theme (200 words)
The mailing
address is on the Release Form.
